AI USE POLICY
Purpose
I use AI tools to help me run House of Glow more efficiently, but my clients’ trust, privacy and safety always come first. This policy sets out honestly how I use AI, where I draw the line, and how I keep you informed.
What I will use AI for
- Drafting general social media posts, captions and content ideas.
- Writing and improving business documents, such as this one.
- Planning treatments, routines and general skincare guidance (not tied to a named client).
- Admin support: templates, checklists, and organising my own business thinking.
What I will NOT use AI for
- I will never put client names, addresses, medical details or any personal information into an AI tool.
- I will never share confidential information about a client or their treatment history.
- I will never use AI to edit, retouch or alter a client’s before and after photos in any way.
- I will never use AI to alter results, images or information in a way that could mislead a client.
Data and privacy
Protecting client privacy is non-negotiable. To make sure private information never ends up in an AI tool, I follow these rules:
- I use incognito or temporary chat modes where available, so nothing is saved or used to train AI models.
- I remove or delete any files after I’ve used them, rather than leaving them stored in an AI tool.
- If I ever need to describe a real situation, I anonymise it first: no names, no identifying details, no photos.
- Client records, bookings and treatment notes stay in my dedicated business systems, not in AI chat tools.
Transparency with clients
I sometimes use AI to help create graphics for social media, for example making a competition post or a set of bullet points look more polished and attractive. These are design elements, not real photos, and they never show an actual treatment, result or outcome, so I don’t flag every one individually. But anything that matters to you directly, such as my advice, your treatment, or anything showing real results, is always mine, never AI’s, and I’ll always be upfront if you ask.
Review and updates
This is a small business run by one person, and AI tools change quickly. I’ll review this policy from time to time and update it as my business or the tools I use change. The version you’re reading reflects how I work today.
